It’s important to note that you can sign up for our service at any time—even if your due date has already passed. We have procedures in place to accommodate you promptly.

On the day of your delivery, ensure you bring the following items:

1) The ice chest
2) The Whirl Pak bag
3) The leak-proof container

When you arrive, inform your nurse that you plan to keep your placenta. Request that after delivery, the placenta be placed into the Whirl Pak bag and then sealed within the leak-proof container. After your baby is born, you will be asked to sign a release form, and the hospital staff will hand over the placenta in the container. Place this in your ice chest, using ice provided by the hospital, and maintain it there until you or a designated person can take it home.

Once you’re home, place your placenta in the freezer for at least 24 hours. This step is crucial to ensure that it remains cold and its freshness is preserved.

To ship your placenta, follow these steps:

1. Remove the ice packs and the container holding your placenta from the freezer and place them inside the ice chest.
2. Secure the ice chest closed with a zip tie.
3. Place the ice chest inside the large ziplock bag to capture any condensation and keep the cardboard box dry.
4. Put the ice chest into the cardboard shipping box.
5. Seal the box with tape.
6. Drop off the package at your nearest UPS store.

To ensure overnight shipment through UPS, please drop off your box at any UPS store exclusively on a MONDAY OR TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY MORNING ONLY.. This timing is essential for prompt delivery.

Upon receiving your package the following day, we will begin the encapsulation of your placenta. Once completed, we will promptly send your placenta capsules back to you via overnight shipping. For more information on this process, click here to learn more.
